MAY 2026
Dear Stilwater Property Owners,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, welcome to the 2026 summer season at Stilwater! We hope everyone enjoys another great season at the lake and throughout the community.
As we prepare for the busy summer months, we would like to share a few important reminders and updates:
Bulk Trash Pickup – May 29
The community bulk trash pickup is scheduled for May 29, 2026. Please place all approved bulk trash items inside the dumpster area prior to pickup. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping the area organized and clean.
Lake Area Seating
The wooden furniture previously located at the lake area has been removed due to its condition. Owners and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs when using the lake area until replacement furniture is purchased and installed later this season.
Unused Dock Slips
If you currently have an assigned dock slip that will not be used this season, please notify Property Manager Barry Savage at barry@tripcodcl.com or 304.216.5713. Unused slips will be temporarily blocked off to help prevent unauthorized use and assist with deterring geese around the dock areas.
Kayak Storage
Please be respectful of the lakefront area and keep all kayaks and paddleboards stored neatly on the rack and not in the grass areas or on the docks.
Boat Tags and Golf Kart Stickers
All boats must display a boat tag corresponding to the slip that it is docked in. Tags must be visible for inspection from the dock. Golf Karts should also have a Stilwater sticker displayed to access the lakefront area. If any owner needs a boat tag or golf kart sticker, please reach out to property manager. Barry@tripcodcl.com or 304.216.5713.
Architectural Approval Reminder
This is also a reminder that any exterior work or modifications planned for a residence must be submitted to the Architectural Committee and approved prior to the start of work. This includes, but is not limited to, exterior alterations, additions, landscaping changes, paving, color changes, or other modifications affecting the exterior appearance of the property.
As outlined in Article 7.1 of the Association’s Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (DCCR):
“No Structure shall be commenced, erected or maintained on any Lot nor shall the exterior appearance of any Structure on any Lot be changed or altered… until the plans and specifications… have been submitted to and approved in writing by the Architectural Committee.”
The DCCR further provides that if the Architectural Committee does not approve or disapprove a submission within thirty (30) days after receipt, the application shall be deemed approved in compliance with Article 7.
The Board and Architectural Committee appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain the appearance and standards of the community.
We look forward to a safe and enjoyable summer season for everyone. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact management.
Sincerely,
Stilwater Property Owners Association Board of Directors
DECEMBER 9, 2025
Stilwater Homeowners,
This is a friendly reminder of the upcoming Goose Hunt scheduled for December 16-23.
It has been reported that the November goose hunt was rather uneventful (that’s not to say unsuccessful), with a few hunters using the designated parking area for access and early morning sounds of gunshots.
The upcoming hunt is anticipated to be similar. The hunt location remains the same and it can again be expected that hunters may be utilizing Stilwater to access the area. The hunters will access the area using only the golf cart path and walking the buffer strip.
Lake Management will place small orange directional arrows marking the golf cart path and Buffer Strip areas to be used for the hunt. The arrows will be placed before the hunt.
Owners should be aware of hunters using the parking area by the golf cart path and prepare to hear gunshots during this time period which is allowed from dawn to dusk.
Hunters will be fully licensed and are educated in how to safely hunt within these types of site conditions. Hunters must remain at least 150 yards from any home. Lake Management will place a large neon sign to clearly mark the approved hunting zone. Hunters must then stay within 50’ of that sign. Hunters are required to wear a minimum amount of orange for visibility. They may be camouflaged in some type of tent or behind camo fencing. This is what is called a blind. They will be shooting towards/over the water and must only shoot fowl within 50' of the blind. It is our understanding that they will be using steel BB shot, which is safer for the water than lead. The shotguns can legally hold only 3 shells. The type of shot used for hunting fowl, only has an effective range of 30-50 yards. After this range any falling pellets fall harmlessly, resembling light “rain”. Hunters will use kayaks to retrieve any harvested birds.
While the buffer strip is not commonly accessed during this time of year, Owner's accessing the area should be mindful of the event. Avoiding the buffer strip and water is the safest, however should anyone be within the area, wear clothing which is visible to the hunters and keep pets on a leash. Rental properties should also inform any guests staying at the property during these time periods.
Thank you,
On behalf of the Stilwater Board of Directors
Barry A. Savage
