NOTE: The Association welcomes owners who would like to serve their neighbors as Board members or on any of the committees or working groups. Please indicate your interest by emailing stilwater.poa@gmail.com with your interest.
MARCH 2026: The board is soliciting two property owners interested in serving on this year's Nominating Committee. The property owner will not be looking to serve on the board. Please email stilwaterpoa@gmail.com.
Elections and Term
Board members serve without compensation and are elected at our annual meeting in October for a term of two years. The Board conducts four quarterly meetings a year, supplemented by committee discussions and email coordination.
Duties of the Board
- Enforce the Stilwater Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions as they apply to the use of properties, common areas, payment of dues and assessments, and all other such provisions.
- Adopt and publish rules governing the use of Stilwater's common areas and facilities, and the conduct of Association members and their guests on the property.
- Supervise the officers, agents and employees of the Association.
- Oversee maintenance of all Stilwater facilities.
- Fix the Association annual dues and administer all operating and reserve funds to help reduce assessments for maintenance and improvements to Association property and facilities.
- Appoint the members of the Association's Architectural Review Committee
- Manage the affairs of the Association in accordance with the laws of the state of Maryland.
Committees and Working Groups
- Nominating Committee - comprised of three property ownersincluding one board member to solicit and propose nominations to the board of directors for the upcoming fiscal year
- Architectural Review Committee - comprised of three property owners to reivew and approve structural changes to properties in accordance with covenants; see ARC tab for more information
- Compliance Committee - comprised of property owners responsible for ensuring adherance to Stilwater Rules and Regulations
- Grounds Committee - comprised of property owners responsible for monitoring Stilwatergrounds for maintenance, safety, preservation of nature and overall aesthetics
- Cove/Shoreline Improvement Working Group - comprised of property owners responsible to review and develop suggestions for iprovements to Stilwater's cove and shoreline
